한 일 대학생의 ‘젊은이어’에 대한 인식

Korean and Japanese College Students’ Perception of “Youth language”: Focusing on the Results of Questionnaire by Tandem Learning Attendance

本稿は、｢日本語-韓国語タンデム学習｣という授業に参加した韓国と日本の大学生の｢若者言葉｣に対する認識についてアンケートと学習日誌を通して考察したものである。まず、若者言葉に対するイメージは日韓ともに｢省略された言葉、流行語、SNSでよく使う｣というイメージが強く、また｢簡単で便利だ、面白い、共感して親密になる｣と感じている一方で｢意味がわかりにくい｣という否定的なイメージも持っていた。そして目標言語の若者言葉をもっと学びたいと思っている学生が多く、若者言葉に対する関心度はとても高かった。 また、学習後の感想として韓国人学生の場合は、｢今、流行っている言葉と文化がわかった、同世代の友だちともっと親しくなる切っ掛けになると思う、実際使われる言葉を学べて実用的だった｣などがあった。そして日本人学生の場合は、｢韓国の若者言葉は略語が多い、言葉遊びを楽しんだり円滑にリズミカルにコミュニケーションを取ったりできる若者言葉の新しい面が見られた｣などがあった。このような若者言葉の実際の使用者である学習者の声から、若者言葉学習の有効性があったと言えよう。考察の結果はタンデム学習だけではなく会話や文化関連の授業におけるテーマの一つとして取り入れるなど、これからの日本語教育と韓国語教育の場で応用できると思われる。

Through questionnaires and study journals by the students, this study examines the perceptions of ‘words used by young people’ by Korean and Japanese college students who participated in the ‘Japanese-Korean Tandem Learning’ class. First, the perception of ‘youth language’ had a strong image of abbreviated words, buzzwords, and frequently used words on social media. In addition, many students think that these words are convenient, funny, and bring empathetic and intimate feelings, but there are some students who think that these words had a negative image as well since it was difficult to understand the meanings of the words. And there are lots of feedbacks from the students after the learning. One of them is that they got to know the popular language and its culture. The other one is that it was practical to lean the words used in real situations, which makes it possible to have nice and smooth communication. The responses from these learners, who are the actual users of ‘youth language’, prove the effectiveness of this learning. I think that the results of this study can be used in the future both in Japanese language education and Korean language education.
