정부지원이 벤처기업의 경영성과에 미치는 영향

The Effect of Government Support on Venture Companies’ Management Performances

본 연구에서는 ICT(Information and Communications Technology) 벤처패널을이용해 정부지원이 벤처기업의 경영성과에 미치는 영향을 실증 분석하였다. 이중차분법으로효과를 추정한 결과 매출액 등 여러 경영성과 변수를 유의미하게 증가시켰다. 그러나 성향점수로 조정한 이중차분법을 이용하여 정부지원 이전 여러 특성 변수들을 균형화를 했을 때 이러한 유의미한 결과가 사라졌으며, 또한 결과의 방향이 바뀌기도 하였다. 이러한 연구결과는단기적으로 정부지원이 벤처기업의 경영성과에 미치는 분명한 인과관계가 없는 것으로 해석할 수 있다. 또한 추후 벤처패널 데이터의 지속적 구축을 통해 정부지원의 장기적 효과를 분석하는 것이 추후 연구 과제로 제안된다.

This paper examines the effects of government support on venture companies’ management performances using the ICT(Information and Communications Technology) venture panel data. Our difference-indifferences estimates indicate that the government support improves management performances. However, the estimates from the differencein- differences with propensity score reweighting show that significant results have been eliminated and the direction of the results has changed. These findings imply that we can not find a clear causal relationship between government support and the management performances of venture firms in the short term.
