The festival cultures of Russia-Eurasia vary depending on the unique lifestyle, religion, and climate conditions of each region. But at the same time, there are some similarities. First, it is common for many traditional festivals in this region to develop a unique blend of folk belief and Orthodox or Islamic elements. Also, the fact that the festival culture has developed in a close relationship with the collectivist tendencies of the people is another characteristic of Russian and Eurasian festival cultures. And, although the origins and methods of the festivals are different, the seasonal festivals in Russia-Eurasia are similar in that they contain ancient ideas of natural worship and the wisdom of the people to respond wisely to natural cycles. Many of the traditional festivals that lasted until the early 20th century were lost or changed during the Soviet era. As religious repression intensified, the majority of religious festivals became illegal. This has led to the disappearance or weakness of many traditions and a new way of celebrating the festival. After the breakup of the Soviet Union, especially in Central Asia, movements to revive traditional festivals have been active. The restoration of traditions, festivals and customs is being carried out as a way to promote national pride and find historical roots.
