Today, as our cultural background goes through the modernization process, culture and traditions containing unique emotions are losing their position due to the influx of Western culture without filtration or the influence of imitation. Fortunately, however, this double conflict of culture is reviving interest and affection for traditional culture due to efforts to regain our tradition. Therefore, this study analyzed and reinterpreted the image and meaning of the flower saloon expressed in Korean traditional architecture and proposed the design as a furniture that is highly used in our living space today. The three-story drawer of research works can be found in the stately shape and simplicity of the bookshelves used in the living space of scholars during the Joseon Dynasty. The chest of drawers, which is designed to fit the modern housing structure and lifestyle, is balanced and has a beautiful proportion of golden ratio. Optimized spatial segmentation and visual decorative elements for the storage of goods are furniture designs that combine practicality with aesthetic elements. In addition, it was based on the beauty of wooden furniture and rational production ideology of Joseon to find the connection between aesthetics and modern furniture expressed in the production process based on the formative characteristics of wooden furniture during the Joseon Dynasty. Through this process, it was intended to find new possibilities as a furniture design and to provide a basis for the modern living space.
