3D 프린팅을 활용한 목가구의 다면체 각재 조인팅 하드웨어 개발 연구

A Study on Developing Multi-sided Timber Joint Hardware of Wood Furniture Using 3D Printing

Design centered of modern furniture has a primary task that is solving structural problem and improving level of completion for realization of its design. For this, divers form of joint subsidiary materials have been used in furniture production process. However, it is hard to find development case of buried joint hardware in spite of its merits that are natural beauty of hardwood and possibility of processing after assemble. The technique of timber joint is requested of professional skills, and subsidiaries that is used in furniture production industry have leaned too much toward on plank focused joint hardware. In the case of 3D printing connector, although this has possibility of formative and functional expression regardless of form of material used, this has weakness that the connector is exposed to the outside. This study is for analyzing joint hardware cases for diversity of hardware used in design centered of modern furniture and increasing the utility. On that basis, the researcher develops 3d printing hardware that is made up existing weakness presenting before and after images of its assembly with joint demonstration process. This hardware geometricized with five and six-sided figure has expandability in furniture design in terms of combining figures. And this diversity also can help realizing modern furniture design that is focused on design.
