In the face of the emotional era, the design market demands emotional products that can sympathize with users in addition to aesthetic value of the product. These emotional design products can be embodied through CMF’s colors, materials, and finishing elements as well as original formativeness of the product. As a follow-up study of the relationship between CMF and luminaires, this work presents a total of five designs of floorstand, desk stand, and pendant lighting by applying CMF elements to propose available luminaires in today s residential spaces. Prior to the development of the design, the researcher examines theoretical review about the elements and features of the Joseon White Porcelain Moon Jar, and analyzes the artists who work with modern reinterpretation and formative methods based on the motif of the jar from the CMF perspective. Modern people are changing their living spaces variously according to their individuality in order to improve quality of life and increase self-satisfaction. Lighting equipment is an important interior element for creating the atmosphere of space. And CMF’s color, material and finish are also key factors of product design for changing living space into emotional space. In response to this new trend of era, the researcher designes moon jar-shaped lighting fixtures that satisfy users emotional aspects and provide emotional stability and visual comfort. To enhance the objective validity of the design presented in this study, the researcher presents five designs by applying items of important elements of CMF derived from consumer surveys in precedent study. Through this study, researcher tries to not only understand the formative depth of traditional art, inherit and develop our cultural elements but also further attach new meanings and values to tradition.
