American furniture artist Wendell Keith Castle (1932, Emporia, Kansas - 2018, Scottsville, NY) led the American Art Furniture Movement in the 1960s and 1970s and over the past 60 years, The world of his own unique work has been developed. Of the wood, plastic, metal, plywood, and other industrial materials that he used in his works, works using FRP (Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic) not only have an importance in the work of Wendell Castle, it also played a leading role in the development of plastic furniture and in the development of the relationship between residential environment and furniture design. In this study, this researcher continued to study the formative characteristics of the works using the fiberglass reinforced plastics by Wendell Castle, following the research “A Study on the Plastic of Art Furniture by Wendell Castle_Focusing on stack-laminated works”, which was dealt with in the Korean Furniture Journal 29 (3), pp. 170-183. Especially by looking at his organic forms, bold colors and public art using FRP, The purpose of this study is to enable designers, craftsmen and art furniture artists in the domestic furniture industry to become good examples and techniques for developing their work.
