A Study on the Design Trend of Rest Furniture for Children Considering the Development by Age

Among the children’s furniture, the rest furniture is the furniture that is bought first such as the bed used first at birth and is used the longest. Therefore, it is also furniture where there is a lot of interest from the consumer side and the best substitution is by age group. From the standpoint of the children who spend a lot of time indoors, rest furniture becomes the best playground and the rides for children. Therefore, it is important to choose the furniture consid-ering the development and behavior according to ages in order to stimulate the imagination of the children and to induce physical activity and to provide safe and comfortable resting space. This study aims to provide basic data for the development of children’s rest furniture suitable for development by age group and suggest appropriate type of rest furniture for each age group. As a basic research for this purpose, the factors for designing rest furniture for children by age group are accurately identified, and the products of rest furniture for domestic and overseas children are checked in total, and the types of design, color and design are classified and ana-lyzed according to age group. In order to develop rest furniture for various ages in the future, we suggested some things to be improved and improved.
