Since the 1990s, information technology has developed with each passing day, knowl-edge update is changing rapidly, and information knowledge is readily available. The traditional library service mode of simple collection, borrowing and reading can no longer meet the diverse needs in the contemporary context. University libraries are forced to reconsider their own aims and tasks and reposition their position and role in the information age to make up for the de-fects of traditional services and functions. Therefore, how university libraries cope with the chal-lenges of the times has become a topic of increasing concern. Under this background, a new type of learning and reading space was born in university libraries-learning and sharing space. Learning commons place more emphasis on the interaction between students, the main purpose of which is to provide a space for college students to learn, communicate, cooperate, research and obtain advice and guidance. Therefore, this study analyzes domestic and foreign cases ac-cording to the spatial rhythm framework of learning commons, summarizes the design methods of learning commons, and provides new enlightenment for the construction of learning com-mons in the future.
