This study was conducted to discuss effects of usage of wood as a sustainable sol-ution in greenhouse gas emissions from cities, which are major sources of greenhouse gases. Wood can delay the release of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere until final decomposition. It is effective in reducing greenhouse gases. Therefore, the global discussion on the carbon storage effects of wood and responses to carbon dioxide issues in urban were investigated and analysis to provide the sustainable solutions to urban environmental problems. In addition, carbon stor-age was calculated assuming that Seoullo 7017, an urban public facility, was replaced with wood. This is a quantitative assessment of the carbon storage of wood, which It can be pro-vided as a basis for establishing a policy.
