This article explores to educate young people through woodwork for development of youth personality made by Kerschensteiner’s theory. Woodworking is an essential skill in hu-man history, not only for there residential life but also in the realm of science and technology, leisure and art. In the field of education, woodworking established the concept of ‘Education through Woodworking’ in the 16th to 18th centuries, in Work-Oriented education founded by pedagogists and philosophers represented by Pestaloch, John Dewey, etc. This has been used as an important teaching method in alternative education. In this study, we tried to establish the theory of education through woodworking. And we also suggest that woodworking plays the role in development of youth personality. Through this, we would like to reexamine the role of education through woodworking in contemporary education.
