Kids design industry is displaying rapid growth. The industry targeting single kid fam-ilies is also on a rapid rise, even generating a new expression ‘No longer eight pockets but now ten pockets for one kid’. Korean domestic furniture brands are featuring kids line- up to take on the rising industry. In light of this trend, this research provides analysis on consumer require-ments by looking into the kids furniture products and their domestic & international market size, and also interviewing consumers in-depth. In addition, this research also provides ‘My first desk and chair’ section for kids between 5 and 7. The research also featured consumer inter-views to find their kids’ furniture needs and figure out design keywords. As a result, the re-search offers where the desk and chair design for kids between 5 and 7 should be headed based on the five main concepts; Together Play, Safe Play, Fun Play, Flexible Use, and Sustainable Use. The desk and chair, made of birch tree and coated in environment-friendly paint, utilized animal character design to provide happy time facing each other. According to the research sur-vey, consumers (parents) prefer natural-colored desk and chair to fit into the room environment, in contrast to colorful toys. Plus, they prefer furniture surface material easy to clean and flexible to use, so that the furniture does not restrict the kids’ scribbling behavior. What makes the Kids industry unique is that Manufacturers (Businesses), Consumers (Parents), and Users (Kids) are distinct in the Kids industry. If the Kids industry pays closer attention to kids’ behavior, envi-ronment, habits, supplementary products (toys and stationeries), and their requirements, and ap-plies the findings to the product design, it will lead to higher consumer and user satisfaction.
