원삼국~한성기 백제 대옹의 편년과 계보

The Chronology and Origin of the Large pottery jar of Proto-Three Kingdoms and Hansung Baekje Period in the Central Korea

원삼국~한성기 백제 대옹의 편년 연구는 주로 공반 유물의 연대를 토대로 이루어졌다. 다양한형태의 대옹이 공반되는 동시에 분석 가능한 자료가 상대적으로 적었기 때문이다. 이로 인해 공반유물을 기준으로 제시된 변화상은 일부 대옹 자료에 국한되는 한계점을 보인다. 이후 중부지역 출토 대옹 자료가 늘어나며 형식 분류가 점차 시도되고 있지만, 이러한 기형을 동일 기종으로 인식할 경우 형태 변화에 따른 편년을 제시하기 어려울 것으로 판단된다. 이에 본 연구에서는 다양한기형의 대옹을 아기종으로 구분하여 아기종별 형태 변화 과정을 확인하고자 한다. 아울러 연대 및시공간적 전개 과정을 검토하여 원삼국~한성기 백제 대옹의 계보에 대해 살펴보고자 한다. 연구 대상은 서울, 경기, 강원 영서지역에서 출토된 대옹을 대상으로 하였으며, 도상복원되는자료 44점을 중심으로 형태를 검토한 결과, 대옹이라는 기종 아래 세 부류의 아기종이 있는 것을 확인하였다. 이에 계측적 속성인 동고비와 경부잘록도를 토대로 A, B 유형으로 대별한 후 명목적속성을 토대로 A 유형은 다시 A1, A2 유형으로 구분하였다. 이렇게 분류한 아기종의 명칭은 선행연구를 참조하여 첨저형(A1), 원통형(A2), 난형(B) 대옹으로 하였으며 각 형식학적 방법으로 분석하여 시공간적 전개 과정을 살펴보았다. 그 결과, 중부지역에서 대옹은 첨저형, 원통형, 난형 대옹 순으로 출현하며 세 아기종이 병존하는 시기는 한성백제 Ⅰ~Ⅲ기에 해당하는 것으로 판단하였다. 먼저 첨저형 대옹은 원삼국 Ⅲ-1 기~한성백제 Ⅲ기까지 확인되는데, 연대 및 시공간적 전개 과정을 토대로 영서지역에서 출현하여경기지역으로 확산되는 것으로 보았다. 그리고 그 계보로 영서지역에서 출토된 중도식무문토기 대형 옹을 주목하였다. 다음으로 원통형 대옹은 원삼국 Ⅲ-1기~한성백제 Ⅲ기까지 확인된다. 원통형 대옹 이른 형식은 경기북부 일대에 분포하는데, 출현 이후에도 분구묘 분포권 내에서 확인된다. 따라서 원통형 대옹은 경기 북부지역에서 출현하여 주변지역으로 확산되었을 것으로 생각된다. 마지막으로 난형 대옹은 한성백제 Ⅰ~Ⅳ기까지 확인된다. 이러한 난형 대옹은 한성백제 Ⅰ기부터출현하는데 전체 24점 중 10점이 풍납토성, 몽촌토성 출토품에 속한다. 이를 토대로 난형 대옹은한성기 백제가 국가로 성장하는 과정에서 출현 및 변화한 기종이었을 것으로 판단하였다.

The purpose of this study is to subdivide the Large pottery jar, discovered in Central Korea, dated to the proto-Three-Kingdoms and Hansung Baeckje Periods. The subjects of this study are about 44 pieces Large pottery jars data, reported in Seoul, Gyeonggi, and Western Gangwon area. Through the analysis, I judged the proportion of body and neck part of the pottery is representing the stylistic difference. based on this view, Large Pottery jar classified into type A and B by the measurement attributes. and the type A classified again into type A1 and A2. these three types of Large Pottery jar are named as inverted triangle shaped(A1), cylinder shaped(A2), and egg shaped(B), referred to in precious study. These three type’s of pottery has a different origins and changing patterns. therefore I examined the temporal changes in each category. As a result, Large Pottery jar appeared in order of inverted triangle shaped(A1), cylinder shaped(A2), and egg shaped(B). The period when the Three of these pottery coexisted were periodⅠ-Ⅲ of Hanseong Baekje. inverted triangle shaped(A1) jar appeared in period Ⅲ-1 of Proto-Three-kingdoms to period Ⅲ of Hanseong Baekje. and I suggested genealogy of inverted triangle shaped(A1) as a Joongdo style plain pottery, reported in the Western Gangwon area. Secondarily cylinder shaped (A2) jar appeared in period Ⅲ-1 of Proto-Three-kingdoms to period Ⅲ of Hanseong Baekje. I estimated that these pottery will be produced in northern Gyeonggi on the basis of geographical distributions. Lastly egg shaped(B) jar appeared in period Ⅰ-Ⅳ of Hanseong Baekje. by checking the time aspects and geographical distributions, the central area of Hanseong was found to be the main distribution area. Thus, I estimated the social demand that appeared in the process of Baekje’s growth as a country was reflected on the emergence and development of egg shaped jar.
