Purpose : This study aimed to identify the factors influencing clinical competency on nursing students in distance education and practice during COVID-19. Methods : The study participants included 183 nursing students in S city, between September 1 and September 7, 2021. The data were analyzed using t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson’s correlation analysis, and hierarchical multiple regression analysis using the SPSS 21.0 program. Results : Factors that influenced clinical competency included scholastic achievement(F=14.11, p <.001), physical condition(F=3.57, p=.030), personality(t=-4.11, p<.001). Clinical competency showed a negative correlation with social anxiety and distress but a positive correlation with the self-confidence of core nursing skills and life core competency. Factors influencing social anxiety and distress(β=-.145, p=.010), self-confidence of core nursing skills(β=.518, p<.001) and life core competency(β=.248, p<.001) accounted for 55% of the clinical competency. Conclusion : Due to COVID-19, designing a class and student guidance that considers these factors is needed.
