여성주의 웹툰, 혐오를 넘어 연대와 동반으로

Feminism Webtoons, Beyond Hatred to Solidarity and Companionship

본고는 지금 이곳 의 컨텍스트 위로 호명된 여성주의 웹툰 텍스트 분석을 통하여 여성주의 웹툰의 정체와 지향을 탐구하기 위한 것이다. 본고에서 주목하는 여성주의 웹툰은 우리 사회의 내재화된 여성에 대한 젠더 불평등 문제를 제기하고, 편증뒨 권력구조와 왜곡된 젠더의식이 빚어내는 부조리한 상황과 폭력에 대하여 적극적인 응전을 요구하며 대안을 모색하는 작품들을 말한다. 본고에서는 여성주의 웹툰의 정체와 지향을 살펴보고, 가부장주의 남성중심주의, 자본주의에 의해 지속적으로 자행되어 온 내재화된 차별의 구조적 폭력에 대하여 적극적으로 문제를 제기한 텍스트들을 종합적으로 분석하였다. 또한 미러링 텍스트의 전략적 유효성과 한계를 평가하였다. 본고에서는 당위적인 여성주의 담론중심의 평가를 지양하고, 향유자와의 상호작용을 통해 각성-분노/공감-실천을 통해 모색하고 있는 새로운 연대와 동반의 가능성에 주목하였다.

This article is to investigate the identity and orientation of feminism webtoons through analyzing the texts of those in the current context. In this article, feminism webtoons refer to texts that pose problems of gender inequality, request an active fightback against absurd situations and violence, and seek for alternatives. This research comprehensively analyzed the texts that actively raised issues about the structural violence of inequality, constantly committed by paternalism, male superiority, and capitalism. Also, the strategic effectiveness and limitations were assessed. This article avoided normative discourse-oriented criticisms, paying attention to the new possibility of solidarity and companionship sought thorough the process of awaiening-rage/sympathy-practice triggered by interaction with the readers.
