국내 여성 프로골퍼와 미국 여성 프로골퍼의 경기력 비교

A Statistical Comparison of the KLPGA and LPGA Tours

국내 여성 골프 시장은 남성 골프 시장보다 대회 수 및 대회 상금액에서 월등히 크다. 국내 여성 골퍼들의 골프대회 기록도 외국의 우수한 선수들과 거의 비슷한 수준에 도달했다고 볼 수 있다. 또한 매년 많은 국내 선수들이 세계 최고의 리그인 LPGA에 입문하고 있을 정도이다. 본 연구에서는 국내 여성 골프협회에서 주관하는 최고 투어 대회의 기록과 LPGA에서 주관하는 LPGA 투어 대회의 지난 5년간 기록을 분석하여 두 그룹의 골프 수준을 비교 분석하였다. 골프기술 중 드라이버 거리, 드라이버 정확도, 그린적중률, 샌드세이브율, 평균 퍼팅수를 고려하였으며, 경기당 상금과 평균타수를 종속변수로 사용하였다. LPGA 선수들은 드라이버 거리에서, KLPGA는 샌드세이브에서 더 우위를 보였고 나머지 기술의 기량은 유의한 차이를 보여주지 않았다. LPGA와 KLPGA 경기당 상금과 평균타수에 미치는 골프 기술요인의 영향력 정도를 파악하였으며, 선수들의 골프 기술의 발전에 따른 상금액의 증가를 추정하였다. 연구결과는 상금과 기술요인의 관계가 두 그룹이 서로 다르다는 사실과 여러 기술요인 중 그린적중률이 상금액에 미치는 영향력과 경기력 향상에 따른 상금액의 증가폭도 가장 크다는 사실을 입증하였다.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the pros and cons of the tours by comparing the records in performance between KLPGA and LPGA. from 2016 to 2020. Among many tours, the records of gofers from the main tours which are named as tours of LPGA and KLPGA are used to compare the two groups. Among many golf skills, we consider driver distance, driver accuracy, GIR, sand saves and putting average which are proved to show the significant effects on money and average score per game. Among those skills, KLPGA outperformed LPGA sand saves, while LPGA outperformed KLPGA by driver distance. Through multiple regression analysis, all golf skills are related with prize per game for LPGA, but GIR and putting average are related for KLPGA. The effect on money winnings per game from one standard deviation improvement in each the golf skill are estimated. GIR is a golf skill producing the largest improvement, while the effect of putting showed increase earnings of about $3,500 which is the smallest for both groups, holding the other skills at the means.
