발달장애 자녀를 둔 부모의 종교정향이 양육 스트레스에 미치는 영향

The Impact of Religious Orientation on Parental Stress in Raising Children with Developmental Disabilities

본 연구는 발달장애자녀를 양육하는 부모의 종교정향이 양육 스트레스에 미치는 영향에 대해 알아보는 것을 목적으로 수행하였다. 연구방법은 설문조사를 통해 발달장애인 양육 부모의 종교정향과 양육 스트레스의 척도를 측정하여 통계검증을 하였다. 분석결과 발달장애인 양육 부모의 종교정향이 높을수록 양육 스트레스가 낮아지는 것으로 검증되었다. 세부요인의 영향 관계를 보면, 종교정향의 내재적 요인은 부모-자녀의 역기능적 상호작용과 자녀의 까다로운 특성과 부적의 관계가 있으며, 외재적 요인은 부모의 고통과 부모-자녀의 역기능적 상호작용과 부적의 관계를 보였다. 종교정향 이외 영향요인을 살펴보면, 교육 수준과 부모의 고통은 정적의 관계이고, 연령과 종교를 가진 기간이 부모-자녀의 역기능적 상호작용과 정적의 관계를 보였다. 본 연구의 결과 종교정향의 외재적 요인이 종교의 사회적 기능을 통해서, 내재적 요인이 심리적 기능을 통해서 양육 스트레스를 감소에 영향을 주고 있다는 점에서 종교단체의 복지재단 및 시설의 설립과 운영, 양육 및 교육 프로그램 개발에 시사점과 함의를 주고 있다.

The purpose of this study is to examine how the religious orientation of parents raising children with developmental disabilities affects parenting stress. A survey was used to collect data on religious orientation and parenting stress among parents of children with developmental disabilities. According to the analysis, the higher the religious orientation of parents raising children with developmental disabilities, the lower the parental stress. In particular, the intrinsic component of religious orientation is negatively related to the Parent-child dysfunctional interaction, as are the problematic characteristics of children and external circumstances. Furthermore, education level and parental suffering were positive, while age and religious duration indicated a positive relationship with Parent-child dysfunctional interaction. This study’s results have implications for the establishment, operation, and program development of religious organizations, considering that external factors of religious orientation play a role in the social function of religion and intrinsic factors reduce parenting stress through psychological functions.
