The disposable meal box is simple and low-cost but its design is difficult and complicated with many restrictive factors and pain points that are hard to find. The project team has realized that it is possible to achieve innovations by analysis from the perspective of a full life cycle and expanding the demand orientations for disposable meal boxes. As a result, the concept of service design is introduced in this product design and we re-examine the design requirements of the supply side, the demand side, and the distribution side relying on the service design method. The design no longer completely centers on users, and the actual needs of other stakeholders are found in practice and the design practice is successfully completed in practice.
