어머니의 양육행동이 아동의 학교적응에 미치는 영향

The Effects of Mothers Parenting Behaviors on Children s School Adjustment: Focused on mediating effect of Children s Self-Esteem

본 연구는 어머니의 양육행동이 아동의 자아존중감을 매개로 초등학교 일학년 아동의 학교적응에 미치는 영향에 대해 알아보기 위해 인과모형을 검증하였다. 한국아동패널의 자료를 활용하여 초등학교 일학년 시기에 어머니의 양육행동(온정, 통제), 아동의 자아존중감, 학교적응 간의 관계를 횡단적으로 연구하였다. 그리고 초등학교 입학 전 어머니의 양육행동과 아동의 자아존중감의 관계를 분석하여 초등학교 입학 전과 후에 대한 종단적 연구를 실시하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같이 나타났다. 첫째, 어머니의 온정적 양육행동은 아동의 학교적응에 직접 영향을 미쳤다. 둘째, 어머니의 양육행동(온정, 통제)은 아동의 자아존중감을 부분 매개하여 학교적응에 영향을 미쳤다. 셋째, 아동의 자아존중감은 아동의 학교적응에 영향을 미쳤다. 넷째, 어머니의 온정적 양육행동은 초등학교 입학 전 아동의 자아존중감에 영향을 미쳤다. 본 연구결과로 어머니의 온정적 양육행동과 아동의 자아존중감에 대한 시사점이 논의되었다.

This study verified the causal model to investigate the effects of mother s parenting behavior on the school adjustment of first grade elementary school children through the medium of children s self-esteem. The data of the Panel Study on Korea Children were used to analyze the relationship between mother s parenting behaviors (Warmness, Control), children s self-esteem, and school adjustment in the first grade of elementary school. And the relationship between mother s parenting behavior and children s self-esteem before and after entering elementary school was analyzed and a longitudinal study was conducted before and after entering elementary school. The results of this study were as follows. First, mother s warm parenting behavior directly influenced children s school adjustment. Second, mother s parenting behavior partially mediated children s self-esteem and influenced school adjustment. Third, the self-esteem of children had an effect on the school adjustment of children. Fourth, mother s warm parenting behavior had an effect on the self-esteem of children before entering elementary school. The results of this study discussed the implications of mother s warm parenting behavior and children s self-esteem.
