전남형 미래학교에 대한 요구 분석 및 모형 탐색

Needs analysis and the exploration of models for Jeonnam regional type future school

목적 이 연구는 학생 수의 급격한 감소와 학력 저하, 지역사회의 열악한 재정지원 등의 문제를 안고 있는 전남지역에서 초⋅중등 교사의 관점을 통해 새로운 학교 모형에 대한 요구사항을 파악하고, 전남지역 특수성에 기반한 미래학교 모형을 탐색하고자 하였다. 방법 이를 위해 전남지역 초등 및 중등교사들로 구성된 초점 집단 면담을 실시하여 현행 교육과정 운영의 어려움과 전남형 미래학교 모형에 대한 요구사항을 파악하였다. 이후 미래학교 문헌 분석과 전문가 협의회를 통해 전남지역 미래학교 모형을 설계하였다. 결과 분석 결과, 전남지역 초⋅중등 교사들은 ‘혼자서 하는 교육과정 재구성의 어려움’, ‘전남지역의 학생 혁신을 반영하지 못하는 국가교육과정’, ‘교직 노령화에 따른 다양한 교육 활동의 어려움’, ‘교육 운영에 대한 행정지원 체제의 낮은 인식 수준’이라는 어려움을 겪고 있었다. 현장교사들은 전남지역 학교 교육의 어려움을 해결하기 위해 ‘초⋅중등 작은 학교 통합교육’, ‘초중등 교사 교차교육’, ‘마을 중심의 교육공동체 운영’, ‘지역사회와의 네트워크를 통한 교육자원 공유’ 등을 공통적으로 요구하였다. 결론 이 연구는 전남지역에 도입할 수 있는 미래학교 모형으로 전남의 소규모 지역에서는 ‘초⋅중등 작은 학교 통합모형’을 그리고 장기적으로 ‘마을 교육공동체 학교 모형’을 제안하였다. 반면, 전남지역의 중⋅대규모 도시지역에서는 ‘지역사회 연계 학교모형’ 운영을 제안하였다.

Objectives The purpose of this study is to derive a future-type school model in Jeonnam region, which has problems such as a sharp drop in the number of students, a decline in academic ability, and poor financial support from the local community. Methods To this end, the future-oriented school models which were mentioned in previous studies were reviewed, and through FGI with expert councils and elementary and secondary teachers, the environmental change and the demands of the school sites in Jeollanam-do region were identified. Results In this study, three models are suggested as follows: first, as a type of future school in Jeonnam region, ‘small school integration model’ where small schools of myeon unit, which share a close distance and environment, are united to operate a curriculum, second, a ‘village education community model’ where the human and physical resources of the village, the environment, and the school curriculum are organically combined and operated, and third ‘community-to-school linkage model’ where the institutions, facilities, and resources in the local community are utilized in conjunction with the curriculum of schools. Conclusions In this study, it is suggested that a ‘small school integration model’ and a ‘village education community model’ be combined and operated in small areas in Jeonnam, and a ‘community-to-school linkage model’ be operated in mid-to large urban areas.
