Academic Method to the Consistency of Knowledge and Action Review: Focusing on Zhu Xi

This paper is a review of the academic method to reach the consistency of knowledge and action by embodying the way of a saint. First, accumulation learning is a method that concentrates for a long time on exploring the principle at the same time as awakening the mind. The learner not only builds a natural disposition by reading the scriptures for extended periods of time, but also accumulates knowledge by reading the scriptures multiple times. Second, analogical learning is a method of figuring out distant virtues by analogy with nearby virtues. A person who knows how to keep etiquette in daily life perceives the community virtue that fits the COVID-19 era by analogy with basic etiquette. Third, insight learning is a method of exploring things and reaching the level of practice as soon as one sees through the principles contained in things. He who sees a young child in danger, and who truly knows what will happen if he does not help, does what he sees clearly as to why he should help. Fourth, reflective learning is a method of controlling the body in order not to deviate from it if it knows what to do in accordance with the situation in the state of awareness. A person who saw precious things and tried to steal them secretly controls his body in accordance with principle with an attitude of awareness while being ashamed of wrong thoughts through reflection.
