This study’s starting point is set to discover how Dewey’s experience can be composed as a meaningful content in schooling. This is reflecting the comment that Dewey emphasizes experience as the critical concept for his educational theory, however, no definite content is provided on explanation of unravel the experience educationally. Thus, this study is to explain the experience as narrative by utilizing Bruner’s narrative inquiry method. Through this narrative, the awareness of Dewey’s experience could be specified which will lead to his experience theory being detailed. This work is to demonstrate that the ultimate direction of education should be the learner’s growth that is caused by experiencing subject-matter and continually reconstructing that experience, within Dewey’s educational view based on experience philosophy. Therefore, the real educational aim is for the new learning content to be absorbed to the learner’s mind to see the things that were not noticeable before, thus desiring higher study and creating a situation that he/she reconstructs their own experience with the relation between teaching and learning.
