긴골동 고구려 벽화무덤 발굴 조사 성과에 대하여

The survey report of Goguryeo Mural Tombs in Gingoldong

종전에 북한 평양시 낙랑구역에서는 고구려 벽화무덤이 보도된 바가 없다. 그러다가 2009년동산동에서 첫 고구려벽화무덤이 조사된데 이어 전진동벽화무덤, 보성리벽화무덤이 잇달아 발견되었다. 2019년에 긴골동에서 고구려무덤을 조사하는 와중에 2기의 벽화무덤을 새롭게 조사되었다. 본고는 새롭게 조사된 긴골동8호무덤과 10호무덤의 발굴 정형에 대한 간략보고이다. 긴골동8호무덤은 무덤길, 안길, 앞칸, 사이길, 안칸으로 이루어진 반지하식의 석실봉토묘이다. 벽화는 무덤칸의 앞칸과 안칸에만 일부 남아 있다. 벽화 주제는 인물퐁속도이다. 앞칸 벽화는남벽의 윗부분에만 남아 있는데 1명의 보행자와 말을 탄 4명의 기마 인물을 그린 행렬도이다. 안칸에는 북벽과 서벽에 벽화가 약간 남아있는데 붉은 밤색으로 기둥 같은 것을 표현한 것이다. 긴골동10호무덤은 무덤길, 안길, 문칸, 안칸으로 이루어진 반지하식의 석실봉묘이다. 벽화는문칸의 양 벽과 안칸의 네 벽면과 천정에 그렸던 것인데 대부분이 박락되었다. 발굴 당시 수많은벽화조각들을 발견하였다. 벽면에 남아 있는 벽화 흔적과 바닥에 떨어진 벽화조각으로 보아 이 무덤의 벽화 주제는 인물풍속도임을 알 수 있었다. 이로서 평양시 낙랑구역에서만 지금까지 동산동벽화무덤, 전진동벽화무덤, 보성리벽화무덤, 긴골동8호무덤과 10호무덤 등 총 5기의 고구려 벽화무덤이 조사되었다. 이를 바탕으로 고구려벽화무덤의 변천과정이나 지역적 특징 등에 대한 진일보의 학술적 검토가 필요하다.

Previously, there were no reports of Goguryeo Mural Tombs in Nakrang District, Pyongyang, North Korea. Then in 2009, as the Goguryeo Mural Tomb was first discovered in Dongsandong, so were the Jeonjindong Mural Tomb and the Boseongri Mural Tomb. During the surveys of Goguryeo Tombs in Gingoldong in 2019, two mural tombs were discovered. This paper is a brief report on the excavation of the Gingoldong Tomb No.8 and No.10. Gingoldong Tomb No. 8 is a semi-underground stone chamber tomb(石室封土墓), which consists of a tomb path(墓道), tunnel(羡道), front chamber(前室), passage(甬道) and back chamber(後室). A few murals are kept only in the front chamber(前室) and back chamber(後室) of the tomb. The theme of the murals is the characters and customs. The fresco of the front chamber(前室) is only kept above the south wall, and it depicts a walker and 4 horsemen. There were some murals on the north and west walls of back chamber(後室), depicting the pillars in red chestnut color. Gingoldong Tomb No. 10 is a semi-underground stone chamber tomb(石室封土墓), which consists of a tomb path(墓道), tunnel(羡道), door room(門室) and back chamber(後室). Most of the murals on the two walls of door room(門室), the four walls of the back chamber(後室) and the ceiling have fallen off. Many fragments of frescoes were found during excavations. Judging from the traces of the murals on the wall and the fragments of the murals left on the floor, it can be known that the theme of this tomb mural is the characters and customs. So far, five mural tombs of Goguryeo including Dongsan Mural Tomb, Jeonjindong Mural Tomb, Boseongri Mural Tomb, Gingoldong Tomb No. 8, and Gingoldong Tomb No. 10 have been discovered in Nakrang District, Pyongyang alone. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct further academic surveys on the evolution process and regional characteristics of Goguryeo Mural Tombs.
