자폐성장애아동 어머니의 행동치료에 대한 인식

The Perception of Mothers on a Behavior Therapy for Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders

본 연구는 자폐성장애아동 어머니가 행동치료에 대해 어떠한 인식을 가지고 있는지를 살펴보고자 하였다. 본 연구는 행동치료를 받고 있는 어머니들과의 면담을 통하여 행동치료를 알게 된 경위, 치료를 선택한 이유, 치료에 대한 기대 등을 살펴보았다. 본 연구는 행동치료를 받고 있는 자폐성장애아동 어머니 4명을 대상으로 면담을 진행하였으며, 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 행동치료는 다른 치료 방법에 비해 활성화 되어있지 않아서 신뢰할 수 있는 정보가 부족하다고 하였다. 둘째, 행동치료는 가정과의 연계나 다른 치료 기관에서 제공되는 치료방법과의 협력과 연계가 부족한 실정인 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 연구 참여자들은 현재 받고 있는 행동치료의 횟수보다 더 많이 행동치료를 받고자 하는 마음이 있었으며, 기회만 된다면 앞으로도 계속 행동치료를 받을 마음이 있다고 하였다. 마지막으로, 연구 참여자들은 행동치료를 받을 수 있는 기관이 제한적이라고 생각하고 언제 어디에서든 필요한 경우에 행동치료를 받을 수 있는 환경이 마련되기를 기대하고 있었다.

This study investigated the perception of mothers of children with autism spectrum disorders on a behavior therapy. The study looked over the process of knowing a behavior therapy, reasons of selecting a behavior therapy, and the expectations toward the therapy through the interviews. The study interviewed 4 mothers of children with autism spectrum disorders, and the results of the study were as follows. First, there were not enough information regarding behavior therapy due to lack of utility. Second, there were not enough connections with home or therapeutic facilities. Third, the mothers would like to participate in the behavior therapies, and they wanted to remain to attend the therapies. Finally, the mothers anticipated to have more therapeutic facilities to be able to attend anywhere and anytime.
