대학교육에서 혁신학습공간 조성이 학생 역량에 미치는 영향

Effects of Innovative Learning Space Development on Student Competencies in Higher Education: A Case of A University’s Makerspace

본 연구에서는 대학 내 혁신학습공간, 특히 메이커스페이스 조성이 학생들의 핵심역량 함양에 영향을 미치는지에 대해 알아보고자 한다. 본 연구는 A대학교의혁신학습공간에 대한 학생들의 인식과 만족도를 조사하였고, 혁신학습공간을 이용하여 학습한 학생과 그렇지 않은 학생 간 역량의 변화가 있는지 확인하였다. 본 연구는만족도 조사와 핵심역량 진단조사에 모두 참여한 재학생 1,413명을 대상의 결과를분석하였다. 그 결과, 대부분 재학생이 교내 혁신공간에 대해 인지하지 못하고 있었고, 11.2%만이 혁신공간을 사용한 경험이 있었다. 혁신공간을 사용한 경험이 있는 학생들은 그렇지 않은 학생에 비해 향후 혁신공간 사용의향이 유의미하게 높은 것을 확인할수 있었다. 핵심역량 함양에 대해 살펴보았을 때, 혁신공간을 이용하여 학습한 학생은그렇지 않은 학생에 비해 문제해결역량, 창의적사고역량, 지식탐구역량, 자기주도역량, 책임의식역량, 사회배려역량, 의사소통역량, 세계화역량, 리더십역량, 팀워크역량이 높았다. 본 연구는 학생들의 역량 함양에 대해 고민하는 대학관계자에게 혁신공간구축에 대한 참고자료로 활용할 수 있다는 데 그 의미가 있다.

This study examined the student perspectives and satisfaction with an innovative learning space in the A University. Furthermore, this study explored the differences of core competencies between students who had used the space and those who had not. The results of 1,413 students who participated both in satisfaction survey and a core competency self-assessment were examined. The results show that most students were not aware of the innovative learning space, and only 11.2% had used the space. Students who had used the innovative learning space had a significantly higher intention to use the space in the future than those who had not used it. In addition, the results indicate that students who had used the innovative learning space had significantly higher scores for problem-solving, creative thinking, knowledge-seeking, student agency, responsibility, consideration for others, communication, global competency, leadership, and teamwork than those who had not. This study provides insight into the use of makerspace and university administrators who are concerned about developing student creative thinking.
