한국 의철학의 건강 개념 연구 동향

Research trends on the health concept of Korean Philosophy of Medicine

이 논문의 목적은 건강 개념에 대한 한국 의철학의 연구 동향을 고찰하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 한국의철학회가 발간하는 저널 『의철학연구』에 수록된 글 가운데, 제목과 초록문의 주요어에서 건강 개념을 제시하고 있는 논문 9편과 서평 1편을 우선 자세히 검토하였다. 그리고 그 가운데 의학과 보다 밀접한 건강 개념을 중심으로 논의되고, 한국의철학회가 규정한 ‘의철학’의 다양한 연구 분야와 동향을 확인할 수 있는 6편의 논문을 주된 분석 대상으로 삼아 정리하였다. 논문이 게재된 시간적 순서, 해당 논문 연구자의 의도를 고려하여 내용을 ① 건강 개념의 세 가지 모델, ② 한의학의 건강 개념, ③ 깡귀엠 생명철학의 건강 개념, ④ 능력으로서의 건강 개념, ⑤ 코나투스 건강학, 건강과 참살이의 계보로 나누었다. 이 작업을 통해 한국 의철학회에서 수행된 건강 개념 연구의 흐름을 개괄하고 그 지형도를 확인할 수 있었다. 세계보건기구의 건강 정의에 의거할 때, 완벽하기에 이상적인 건강 상태가 정적으로 존재한다고 보아야 한다. 그러나 건강은 성취할 수 있는 완벽한 존재의 상태에 대한 매우 특수한 개념이 아니라, 인류 일반이 성취해야 할 것으로 보편적 개념이어야 한다. 대안은 건강 개념이 역동적이며 과정 중에 성취될 수 있음을 보여야 한다. 각 연구들은 의학에 대한 철학적 반성을 통해 세계보건기구(WHO)의 건강 정의를 문제 삼고 그것을 넘어서려는 노력을 보여주고 있었다.

The purpose of this article is to consider the research trends on the health concept of Korean philosophy of medicine. To this end, nine papers and a review were examined thoroughly in the journal Philosophy of Medicine published by the Korean Association for Philosophy of Medicine, presenting health concepts in the title and key words of abstract. Among them, six papers which are discussed around health concepts closer to medicine and can identify various research areas and trends of philosophy of medicine defined by the Korean Association for Philosophy of Medicine, were analyzed and summarized. Considering the chronological order in which the paper was published and the author s intention, the contents were divided into five categories as follows: ① three models of health concept ② health concept in Korean Medicine ③ health concept in Canguilhem’s philosophy of life ④ health concept as the ability ⑤ Conatus medicine, genealogy of Health and Authentic Bodily Liveliness. As a result, we were able to overview the flow and map the topology of health concept research conducted by the Korean Association for Philosophy of Medicine researchers. According to the WHO s definition of health, a completely ideal health state should be considered static. Health, however, should be a universal concept that must be achieved by the general humankind, not a very special concept of the state of perfect being that can be achieved. Alternatives should show that the concept of health is dynamic and can be achieved throughout the process. Each study has shown a specific effort to challenge and transcend the WHO s definition of health through philosophical reflection on medicine.
