This study analyzed the economic effects of improving dishonest distribution to prepare a reasonable and efficient system for preventing dishonest distribution of beef. For this, we surveyed consumer perceptions of how beef is illegally distributed and how beef is managed. In addition, the economic effects of improving dishonest distribution management methods were analyzed by estimating the social costs and benefits of improving dishonest distribution management methods. It was found that consumers consider the price and country of origin most importantly when purchasing beef, and that the grades and livestock that are subject to this study are relatively less important. It is necessary to adjust the full or partial integration of livestock dishonest distribution management tasks, which is also important for improving the efficiency of the dishonest distribution integration system. Scenario analysis of fraudulent distribution probabilities estimates that the cost-to-benefit ratio was 0.92 or higher in most scenarios, even if the improvement in fraudulent distribution management reduces social losses due to class and accumulation false indications by only 10%. This results are expected to present a reasonable and efficient plan to establish a system for preventing dishonest distribution of livestock products.
