함평 예덕리고분군 속의 장송의례

A Study on the Funeral and Burial Rituals of the Ancient Tombs of Yedeok-ri, Hampyeong

마한 장송의례 관련 고고자료는 해가 더할수록 증가하고 있다. 본고는 이와 관련된 중요 자료가 예 덕리고분군에서 확인됨에 따라 그 모습과 성격을 살펴보고자 한 것이다. 이는 예덕리고분군에 한정하 는 것이 아니라 인접한 신덕고분군까지를 포함하는 장송의례 복원에 목적을 두고 있다. 검토 결과, 주목되는 관련 유구는 주거지와 이형토갱〔立柱穴〕으로 파악되었다. 주거지의 경우 무덤 과 생활구역으로 어우러진 마한 취락의 경관 갖춤새를 보이며, 무덤 공간에 접해 자리한다는 공간적 구도에서 수묘 집단과 관련될 가능성이 시사되었다. 분구 사이에서 확인된 이형토갱은 개별 분구뿐만 아니라 묘역 전체를 대상으로 한 거대한 목재 기물을 세워 행해졌던 입주의례 흔적으로써, 문헌에 기 록된 입대목(立大木)의 고고학적 자료로 평가된다. 마한 묘역은 분구만으로 구성된 무덤 경관에 그치 지 않고, 입대목과 같은 의례 기물을 세워 공간의 신성함과 죽은 영혼의 안녕도 기원했던 경관을 갖추 었다. 따라서 예덕리고분군을 포함한 마한 고분군의 보존과 복원 방향은 단순히 분구만을 정비하는 수준 에서 벗어나 이제는 묘역 경관을 복원하는데 관심을 두어야 한다. 현재 지정 관리되고 있는 고분 유적 들은 대부분 분구에 잔디를 식재 관리하는 수준에 머무르고 있으며, 묘역 관련 시설이나 행해진 의례 흔적을 찾아 복원하려는 노력은 부족한 실정이다. 향후 예덕리고분군에서 확인된 경관 요소들을 발굴 복원하는 정비 방향을 모색한다면. 마한 고분 유적의 진정성을 재확인할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

Archives related to Mahan funeral and burial rituals are increasing year by year. The thesis reviewed the funeral and burial rituals because important data were identified in the Yedeok- ri Ancient Tombs. This is not limited to the Yedeok-ri Ancient Tombs, but to restore the landscape including the adjacent Sindeok Ancient Tombs. As a result of reviewing the data on the ancient tombs in Yedeok-ri, Hampyeong, what was noteworthy was the housing and the strange form of pit(Ipjuhyeol). The house shows the landscape of Mahan Village, where the tomb area and living area are harmonized together, and it is possible that it is a house of the tomb-building group in that it is located close to the tomb. The strange-shaped pit identified between the tombs was evaluated as archaeological data of a big tree(Ipdaemok) recorded in the literature as a trace of a large tree built not only for individual tombs but also for the entire graveyard. Mahan s tomb not only completes the burial mound, but also builds a big tree, which was completed as a landscape to make space sacred and pray for the well-being of the dead. Therefore, the preservation and restoration of the Yedeok-ri Ancient Tombs should now pay attention to restoring the landscape, away from the level of maintaining the burial mound. Most of the tombs currently being designated and managed remain at the level of planting and managing grass, and efforts to find and restore traces of rituals performed in the facilities or graveyards of tomb makers are insufficient. Therefore, it is expected that the authenticity of Mahan Ancient Tombs can be reaffirmed if the direction of maintenance is sought to excavate and restore the landscape elements identified in Yedeok-ri Ancient Tombs.
