Psychomotorik for the Subjectivation of the Socially Disadvantaged in their Therapy: Exemplifying the Patients of Hospitals for the Elderly and the Mentally Disabled

The research of psychomotorik, based on the interaction between body-movement and spirit-psycho, can expand its academic and practical range from the area of children to that of adults. This paper aims to discuss the health related problems of the patients of the hospitals for the elderly and the mentally disabled to illuminate the meaning and value of the subjectivation of the socially disadvantaged in their therapy and suggest the psychmotorik application as an alternative. This research examines the reality and problems of the rehabilitation service for the patients and explains the health problems of the mentally handicapped compared to the intellectually disordered. The analysis finds that the elderly patients do not have good quality and quantity of motion, and the mentally disordered are not active in forming the social relations related to the cure with their self-respect. Lastly, this paper shows the reason that psychomotorik is necessary for improving their psychological improvement.
