The aim of this essay is to explore the educational application of traditional reading discourse to Classical Chinese education, by applying the ‘syntopical reading’ method. In the study, we analyzed the traditional reading discourse, presented in both Classical Chinese curriculum and Korean language curriculum, and reviewed generalized reading theories including the ‘syntopical reading’ method. Based on the analyzation, we presented the model of ‘syntopical reading’ method, suitable for the Classical Chinese curriculum. We also attempted to apply this model to embody the student- engagement-centered teaching『learning process. We anticipate that this preliminary approach to ‘syntopical reading’ method in Classical Chinese Education could contribute to integrative reading of multiple materials with various perspectives and forms, and even to creative writing connecting a learner’s life, emotion, and their own knowledge.
