본 연구의 목적은 비교 사례연구를 통해 차변과 대변 기반의 퀵북(QuickBooks)과 활동과 자원 기반의 이지키핑(EASYKeeping) 회계프로그램을 이용해 사례 문제의 회계처리 과정을 비교하고, 이를 통해 이지키핑회계프로그램의 우수성을 탐색하는 것이었다. 이를 위해 기업활동 자료 20개를 사례 문제로 제시하고 양 회계프로그램을 이용해 처리하고 회계보고서의 출력물을 비교하였다. 미국에서 개발된 퀵북회계프로그램은 전통적인 복식부기원리인 차변과 대변 분개방식을 채택하여 개발했으며, 다양한 업종에 적용하기가 다소 어렵다는 한계가 있었다. 또한 기업활동 자료의 입력과정에서 상당 수준의 분개에 대한 전문지식이 요구되며, 제공되는 보고서도 재무상태표와 손익계산서만이 제공된다는 한계를 가지고 있다. 이에 반해 한국에서 개발된 이지키핑회계프로그램은 활동정보회계 방식을 채택해 쉽게 자료 입력이 가능하고, 업종별 회계처리를 할 수 있도록 프로그램 수정이 용이하며, 다양한 회계보고서의 출력이 가능하다는 점에서 그 우수성을 인정받을 수 있다고 판단된다. 본 사례연구는 학문적으로 활동과 자원 기반 이지키핑회계프로그램의 우수성을 입증했다는 점에서 시사점이 있으며, 실무적으로도 국내 대학에서의 전산교육에 사용할 수 있는 자료와 정보를 제공할 수 있다는 점에서 의의가 있다고 판단된다.
The purpose of this study was to explore excellence of activity and resources based EASYKeeping accounting program by comparing it with DrCr based QuickBooks program in terms of accounting processing and its output. In order to achieve the purpose, 20 accounting reports were processed by both QuickBooks and EASYKeeping and outputs were compared. QuickBooks accounting program, which was originally developed in the USA, adopts traditional doubleentry bookkeeping principle using DrCr journaling method. This program could not be applied to a wide variety of business corporations. Besides, it requires considerable expertise on journalizing and its resulting analysis reports shows financial position statement and income statement only. In contrast, EASYKeeping accounting program, which was developed in Korea, is considered excellent in that, by adopting activity information accounting method, it allows for easy input of data, easy modification of data for accounting by category, and a various accounting reports. The significance of this study is that it has proven high effectiveness of activity and resources based EASYKeeping accounting program, enabling it to provide data and information with universities in Korea for enhancing computerized accounting education.
