교계제도적 권위와 은사의 호혜적 관계

Reciprocal Relation between Hierarchical Authority and Charism: Foundation of the Realization of Synodal Church

시노달리타스는 역사 안에서 걸어가는 하느님 백성의 각 구성원들이 공통된 사명에 제 몫을 하는 교회의 삶과 활동 방식을 가리킨다. 이 여정은 필연적으로 ‘각자’와 ‘함께’ 사이의 유기적 연결을 포함하는데, 이에 교황청 국제신학위원회는 교계제도적 권위와 은사의 ‘공동-본질성’이 시노달리타스 실현의 토대라고 주장한다. 본 고에서는 제2차 바티칸 공의회의 가르침을 기초로 이 공동-본질성의 의미, 그리고 권위 및 은사의 교회론적 의미를 고찰한 후 시노달리타스를 살아내는 교회의 삶에 있어서 그 상호 호혜적 관계를 규명하였다. 교계제도와 은사의 공동-본질성은 동일한 기원과 동일한 목적성에 있는데, 같은 성령의 선물로서 교회의 사명 수행과 궁극적 목적을 위하여 주어졌다. 은사는 소수의 사람들만 받는 것도, 어떤 기이한 체험만도 아니라 성령 체험으로서 세례 받은 모든 이들이 받는 것이다. 성령 아니고서는 예수를 그리스도요 주님으로 고백할 수도 그분의 구원을 증거할 수도 없기 때문이다. 성령께서는 그리스도의 몸인 교회 안에서 각 지체들이 제 몫을 할 수 있도록 교계제도를 비롯한 다양한 선물을 원하시는 선물을 원하시는 이들에게 주신다. 교계제도는 특히 신적 권위를 받아 은사를 식별하고 지체들이 제 몫을 하는데에 은사를 올바로 사용할 수 있도록 봉사한다. 그런데 교회 안에서 권위의 원천은 그리스도이기 때문에 무엇보다도 먼저 그리스도론적으로 이해해야 한다. 그리스도의 권위는 성부의 뜻을 실현하는 데에 있고, 그 실현은 성령 안에서 이루어진다. 하느님은 당신 아들을 믿는 이들에게 하느님의 자녀가 되는 권위를 주셨다. 따라서 그리스도인들은 성령 안에서 성부의 뜻을 실현함으로써 그리스도의 권위에 참여한다. 교계제도의 신적 권위는 하느님 백성이 자신들이 받은 이 권위를 올바로 실현할 수 있도록 주어진 것이다. 그런데 이 봉사가 효력을 얻기 위해서는 교계제도 또한 성부의 뜻과 성령께 순종해야 한다. 이는 백성 안에서 말씀하시고 행동하시는 성령께 귀 기울일 것을 요청하는데 그 대상에는 은사도 포함되어 있다. 이런 의미에서 은사 또한 교계제도에 봉사한다. 그러므로 은사는 그리스도의 몸의 모든 지체들에게 주어지고, 모든 이들이 그리스도의 권위에 참여하며 이 속에서 교계제도는 자신이 받은 고유한 신적 권위로써 각각의 지체들이 서로 유기적으로 연결되어 친교를 이루는 가운데 그리스도의 몸의 성장에 자유로이 또 질서 있게 기여하도록 봉사한다.

The Synodality is modus vivendi et operandi of the Church in which each member exercises his/her commitment to the Her common mission. The Church is the people of God who walks in history towards the ultimate end. The organic relationship between ‘each one’ and ‘with the others’ is necessarily included in this synodal journey. This is why the International Theological Commission says that the co-essentiality of hierarchy authority and charisms is the foundation for the realization of synodality. This research, based on the teachings of Vatican II, try to clarify the meanings of co-essentiality, charisma and authority and to verify the mutual reciprocal relationship between hierarchical authority and charism. The co-essentiality of charism and hierarchy consists in their same origin and purpose. Both are gifts of the Holy Spirit and are given for the fulfillment of the mission of Church. The charisms are given to not only specific faithful, but also all the faithful, and not only in an extraordinary form but also in a simple form. The charism is the experience of the Holy Spirit who makes men confess Jesus as Christ and Lord and makes them a witness to His truth and Salvation. The Holy Spirit distributes His gifts to each Christian so that he/she participates in the mission of the Church in his/her own way. Hierarchical gifts also belongs to these gifts. The hierarchy serves with divine authority to the discernment of authentic charism and its right use. However, authority in the Church must be understood Christologically, because it s origin is Christ. His authority consists in the fulfillment of the Father s will and He accomplish it in the Holy Spirit. And to those who believe in His Son the Holy Father gave the authority to become children of God. They accomplish His will in the Holy Spirit, so that they can participate in the authority of the Son. To the hierarchy is given the divine authority so that the people of God can realize rightly the authority as children of God. However, in order to get a real effect, hierarchical authority also must open itself to the Word of God and to the Holy Spirit. And God manifests and accomplish His will also in diverse charisms. In this sense we can say that charisms also serve the hierarchy. Therefore, in the Church, the body of Christ, the charisms are distributed to all the members, and all of the members participate in the authority of Christ. And the hierarchy serves the people of God so that it’s each member is organically connected to one another in communion and contributes freely and orderly to the growth of the body of Christ with their own charism.
