In this paper, the author, after introductory remarks on Vuk s work on filling in the second edition of the Rječnik, discusses the meaning of prefixes for verbs, their influence on verb form, gender and meaning. The author paid special attention to transitivization, connected bases and depreversion, and in the prefix-suffixal formation of verbs to the distribution of prefixes and suffixes and to the difference between ordinary prefixal and prefixal-suffixal formations.
