러시아어와 한국어의 상 의미에 대한 고찰

A study on aspectual meaning of Russian and Korean

  • 23

In this study, the aspectual meaning of Russian and Korean are described from a contrasting point of view, and in particular, the problems in the semantic description of the aspect in Korean are highlighted in detail. In this process, it is considered that aspect is an independent grammatical category different from tense, and it is also distinguished from the lexical category that indicates Aktionsart (kind of the action) of a verb. The exact expression of aspectual meaning in the Korean language is not clear with only the tense and must be specified only by the lexical aspect. In many studies, the aspectual meaning of the Korean language is eventually being replaced by a description of the meaning of the situation type represented by the verb. However, the aspectual semantic description by this Aktionsart of a verb cannot be regarded as the aspectual meaning in its own sense. In the Korean language, there is no grammatical aspect of the same form as the Slavic language, and it is reasonable to assume that a mixed form of grammatical and lexical aspect exists. Only this case should be regarded as the aspectual meaning of the Korean language. Through this strict approach to the meaning of aspect, the relationship between aspect and tense of the Korean language and the phenomenon of mixing aspect and Aktionsart can be described logically with more clarity.
