The origin of Chulsae-poem(出塞詩) is martial music and folk song used as a material for Akbu(樂府) in the Han(漢) and Wi(魏) time. Contents and image are heterogeneous with each other. Chulsae-poem(出塞詩) in the martial music series recite landscape of the frontier and emotion generally. There is a difference between emotion and image varying from author. Some writer recite bravery and martialness, and others recite homesickness and tough frontier life. Chulsae-poem(出塞詩) in folk song series mainly recite grieved mind. The general form of Chulsae-poem(出塞詩) is verses with five words to each line. Chulsae-poem(出塞詩) from the Koryo Dynasty to the Joseon Dynasty has two series. One is imitative series which imitate of Chinese Chulsae-poem(出塞詩), and the other is creative series which reflects our historical reality in writer s spirit.
