遊仙文學에 나타난 道敎의 동물에 대한 형상과 인식

The shape and perception of Taoist animals in Yusun Literature

From the age of Mythology animals have affected to humans. In ancient times, animals were also the target of the totemijeum and also the subject of while hunting. The bizarre animals have appeared in Taoist literature. The geometry of the animals reflects human nature’s sense about matters and showed that how far the ancients’ mythic imagination had gone. In the case of Korea, people had a world view based on the reason and rationality of Confucianism, Taoist gods and animals were not accepted. But on the other hand, some animals have influenced on people s lives and thinking. In particular, This study centered on the Taoist animals in Yusun literature. Taoist animals appeared in abundance on the 『Shan Hai Jing』. The animals in 『Shan Hai Jing』 have human’s shape, and was harm and also help to humans. Age of Mythology animals were transcendental god to human, on the other hand were also exist to eat. 『Shan Hai Jing』 already read from the three Kingdoms period inspired many intellectuals. Korean writers were ducking the animals of various Taoist work and described a spectacular fairyland. Animals in Yusun literature are imaginary animals, mostly birds. There were Nansae, blue birds, dragon, Kirin, Phoenix and crane. The role of these animals was very limited and it is simple. In yusun literature, animals were waiting on Taoist hermit and pulled wagons. Or animals were appeared as a aid helping glamorous and mysterious atmosphere to fairyland. Paradoxically, it brought an effect to admire and aspire a fairyland that freely beak mystical creatures. The animal appeared in Yusun literature was important in Confucian. Nansae, dragon and phoenix, including girin, turtles are treated as sacred and honorable animals in Confucianism. The geometry of the animals in Taoism was not a single imgae, transformed to various meanings in various fields. A symbol contained in the animal is not simply a projection of idiom, is a reflection human consciousness over the animal. Things to do in the animal s shape and symbolism is that in which the spiritual and cultural backgrounds and human consciousness.
