Dangju Park Jong(1735~1793), a writer from Hamgyong was implicated in Jeongyyu conspiracy and was exiled to Younghae, Gyengbuk for 16 years as 3000li(li : Korean traditional metric system unit, about 400m) exile felon. When he was impoverished and distressed in the exile, he had help from chief Buddhist monk of Yugeum temple and local aristocrats of Younghae(Andong Kwon family, Jeonju Ryu family, YoungYang Nam family etc). With this as a momentum, he started to socialize with the writers of Youngnam province and had academic exchange with them. Park Jong who loved the nature, sometimes climbed the Hyungjebong Peak with the writers to distract his mind from suffocating life of exile. Park Jong who admired the landscape came to yearn for the study of Toegye and Youngnam academic groups through the Yeongnam literators, and finally, he makes hard decision to go for the 23 days of travelling to Cheongnyang mountain on August 1780. This is how Cheongnyangsanyurok was created, which has its significant value as it was written by travelling during the exile. The book expresses the respect toward Toegye after Park Jong travelling around Chengnyang mountain, Baegundong Soewon, and Dosan Soewon, and became a chance to reestablish the Origin of Ethics. Also, the book has its value as significant historical material which contains information of local culture such as Tabaeksan History Archives and Buseoksa Temple. Especially, among the numerous travelling writing pieces of Chengnyang mountain, this book is written in outstanding writing style and the travelling range from YeoungHae to YoungYang, BongHwa, YoungJu, Andong will be remembered as totally different journey of Chengnyang mountain.
