IT 산업의 특성과 관리회계정보시스템 간 적합성이 시스템 성과에 미치는 영향

The Effects of Fitness between Characteristics of IT Industry and Management Accounting Information System

상황이론을 이용하여 관리회계정보시스템을 연구한 선행연구들은 일반제조업을 대상으로 한 연구가 대부분이므로, 본 논문은 IT 산업을 대상으로 연구하였다. 최근 IT산업은 조직규모가 급성장하고 있으며, 전 세계적으로도 고부가가치를 생산하는 비중이 계속 증가되고 있다. 따라서 IT 산업을 둘러싸고 있는 급격한 환경변화에 신속히 대응하여 적응할 수 있는 관리회계 정보시스템을 구축하여 의사결정시 유용한 회계정보를 제공해야 한다. 본 논문에서는 IT 산업의 특성과 관리회계정보시스템 (MAIS)간 적합성이 시스템 성과에 미치는 영향에 대하여 연구하였다. 검증결과에 의하면, IT 산업의 특성과 MAIS 간 적합성이 시스뎀 성과에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 정보기술을 제외한 상황변수들(조직규모, 그룹사 업무지원의 정도, 경쟁정도)과는 상관없이 정교한 원가관리회계기법을 자주 사용한 경우에 시스템 성과가 많이 향상되었다. 일반 제조업을 대상으로 한 선행연구들은 대부분 고적합 집단이 저적합 집단보다 시스템 성과가 향상되는 것으로 나타났다. 본 논문은 IT 산업의 특성과 MAIS 간 적합성이 시스템 성과에 미치는 영향을 규명함으로써, 효율적인 관리회계정보시스템을 설계ㆍ운영하는데 유용한 지침을 제시하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다. 앞으로의 연구에서는 시스템 성과뿐만 아니라 경영성과(재무적ㆍ비재무적 성과)를 변수로 선정하여 연구해 보는 것도 의미가 있을 것이다.

The firm size of Information Technology Industry(hereafter called IT Industry) is growing rapidly nowadays. So to cope with technology variety surrounding Management Accounting Information System(hereafter called MAIS) and rapid environmental changes, we have to be given the useful and timely information in connection with management activities. The purposes of this study are to empirically examine the effects of the Fitness between Characteristics of IT Industry and MAIS on the System Performance. The tested results are as follow it indicates that the Fitness between Characteristics of IT Industry and MAIS affects on the System Performance. The identification result indicates that the System Performance raised higher when the exquisite Cost Management Accounting Method is applied frequently on it regardless of the Firm Size, the business support of their groups and the competition Degree except for Information Technology. In case of the previous studies on the general manufacturing companies, the System Performance improved more in the High-fitness Group than in the Low-fitness Group. In this study on IT Industry, the Results are the same as in the previous study when the Contingency Variables are high, But the System Performance improved much more in the Low-fitness Groups than in the High-fitness Groups when the Contingency Variables are Low. This Study Results can be a useful guide to another researchers when they project and manage the proper MAIS by means of examining closely the effects of the Fitness between Characteristics of IT Industry and MAIS on the System Performance. In further studies, it will be valuable to focus on the Managerial Performance variables(the financial or non-financial results).
