본 연구는 차세대 정보기술로서 차세대 웹인 시맨틱 웹(Semantic Web)의 적용에 대한 연구이다. 이를 위해 관광산업에의 적용을 목표로 실제 시맨틱 웹의 구현 기술인 온톨로지를 구축하였다. 이는 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅에서 정보의 연결성을 위한 핵심 기술로서, 그리고 하나의 지식 공간으로 체계화하기 위한 방법으로 온톨로지 기술로서 최근 그 중요성이 증가하고 있는 상황이다. 특히 본 연구에서 적용하고자 하는 분야로서 관광 산업에 초점을 두고 있는데 이는 제주지역에서 관광 산업이 가장 중요한 위치를 점하고 있는 분야이며, 온톨로지 기술의 특징상 관광 산업이 이벤트 성향이 강하고 이러한 측면을 유연성 있게 반영할 수 있다는 점에서 본 연구의 의미를 가진다.
This study is to propose a application of semantic web in the tourism industry. Because semantic web consists of documents with semantic information, it enables computer to interpret the contents of the documents, so that the information retrieval, interpretation and integration can be automated. The web documents with the semantic information may be made in ontology. In this paper, we propose the method of designing the ontology for specific domain, which is Michon-gool tour place. Thus, local domain ontology of this paper will be proceeded to global domain ontology in jeju tourism industry
