This study focuses on a total of 97 poems with 13 themes and categorizes them into appreciator s layer and creator s layer. First, the most important consideration in the appreciator s layer is how Mr. Lee appreciated painting and configured it as poetic. He represented the meaning most of the objects have when he saw painting and wrote poems about it. And he described them from a unworldly point of view with firm disposition as a scholar. It is thought that this was because he appreciated painting as a literary person. Lee, Jeong-Jik discussed themes of painting through Jehwasi. It can be said that he broke a typical habit of poetry that emphasizes static emotion in that he discussed through poetry. However, it was recognized as one of characteristics of his poetry. This study considers Jehwasi that discusses painting through poetry in the creator s layer. It is because he showed drawing that replaces poetry and writings, how to draw, and the ultimate artistic summit through a series of Jehwasi in a sporadic manner. For Jehwasi in the layer of creator, his ultimate goal is to deliver the spirit by discussing painting through poetry.
