This article is focused on Pyoam Kang Sewhang s(1713~1791) Chinese poem and specially focused on the format and expression. For this, first of all I summarized his life and theme of his poem. Second, I studied the format and expression of his chinese poem. Pyoam was born of good ancestry, Sobook. But because of the decline of his family, he lived in the wilderness at Ansan, Kyenggi-do for 30 years and he became a government official only after he was 60 years old. He got the special credit of King Jeongjo.. But he didn t have an interest in the moral or economic problem, but only interest in the literature and arts for all his life. 18th century often is called the era of the culture. From this point of view, Pyoam can be called the core man of leaders of culture period because he dedicated all his life to poem, paintings and calligraphic works. Now Pyoam Yoogo contains Pyoam s 461 chinese poems(361 subjects) and some of his chinese poem is in other books. Pyoam expressed his paintings and calligraphic taste through the chinese poem and created many works containing the humanity. For the express of these themes, he used most the 5-word or 7-word Jeolgoo and Yulsi and used also 5-word long piece and 6-word poem. It is important to note that he didn t only use the general poem format like 7-/5-word Jeolgoo, Yulsi, 5-word long piece. He showed off the theme of poem by utilizing the format like 6-word or not fixed number-word, Chebja, Oklyenwhan, Yakmyeng, Hyemoon Poem which the majority of normal scholars din t write. And he wrote many funny poem combining a high degree of linguistic sense with paintings and calligraphic. Also he wrote the pictorial poem by selecting poetic words and structure.
