大山學派의 高山精舍 講會와 性理說 講論

The Lecturing at Gosan Jeongsa of Daesan School and the Teaching of Neo-Confucian theory -Focusing on Kim Seon’s 「Gosan Gangui」-

This thesis intends to consider how Daesan Lee Sang-jeong (1711~1781)’s disciples inherited and developed their master’s knowledge and idea, so it focuses on the lecturing performed at Gosan Jeongsa for four days from August 24th till 27th of 1811. Through that lecturing, this paper examines how scholars under Daesan School gave lectures and what were the contents of the teaching. The purpose of the lecturing can be summed up largely in two parts. The first one is to inherit and develop Daesan’s studies through lecturing. And the other one is to raise a request to the Royal Court gathering wills of Daesan’s disciples and the region’s Confucianists for elevating Daesan Jeongsa to a Seowon taking the lecturing as a chance. With regard to the procedure of the lecturing, Yu Beom-hyu taking the leader’s role suggests a subject to be discussed along with Samseol such as 「Solseongjiuido-seol」, 「Ilseonggusadeok-seol」, and 「Simmuchulip-seol」. Next, people attending the lecture speak their opinion on it freely. The lecture was not conducted in a way that a person delivered his opinion unilaterally, but it was more like a gathering where people could share various views on a certain topic. The contents of the lecturing were arguments on Samseol of Daesan as mentioned above. This article has examined 「Ilseonggusadeok-seol」 among Samseol intensively in order to understand the definitions of concepts on the true nature of Daesan and the theories of Sadeok and investigate how the scholars of Daesan School interpreted their master’s theories and how the interpretations differed.
