I have, in this study, investigated chaek-moon that can be comparable to discourse and writing today among the styles of Chinese writing. Chaek-moon is writing as well as discourse of the time from the viewpoint that it logically describes his or her opinion according to given subject. Chaek-moon prohibits vague expression away from given theme as well as brilliant sentence adornment, but it requires simple and clear writing based upon given topic. Chaek-moon also needs a certain type of form and writing skills, which is specifically described in 『chaek-moon-jun-jeok』 that combined departmental volumes of books in the latter half of the 17th century. Furthermore, we can also find out such things in 『dong-chaek-jung-soo』 that combined departmental volumes of books in earlier days than that time, which makes us guess that 『chaek-moon-jun-jeok』 could have been made based upon various chaek-moon collections or total collections of previous times. 『chaek-moon- jun-jeok』 and 『dong-chaek-jung-soo』 has proposed us a new way to conduct research in its direction-making away from its limit to research chaek-moon mostly based upon its contents, make us investigate how the form and writing skills of chaek-moon really are reflected onto chaek-moon. In addition, the research on chaek-moon that has represented traditional writing can be significantly meaningful in illuminating epoch-making implication and exploring a new horizon at present.
