The speech etiquette of any country has the general (universal for all languages) and its own special national characteristics. It is possible to identify most definitely national features of speech etiquette by comparing two languages. The experience of practical work with Korean students shows that the way to use the personal name in the Russian and Korean languages is very different. Therefore, this thesis reports on a case study concerning the Russian speech etiquette, when students learning Russian as a foreign language introduce themselves and make one person acquainted with another. The study will help to define in which situation linguistic and cultural comments should be given students during the Russian language lessons for Koreans.
