중국인 한국어 학습자의 ‘에, -에서’오류 양상 연구

A study on the ‘-e(-에), -eseo(-에서)’ and errors by Chinese Korean learners: Focusing on the meaning of ‘Place’

본고는 ‘장소’ 의미를 지니는 한국어 부사격 조사 ‘-에’와 ‘-에서’의 의미적 특징을 살피고, 국립국어원의 <한국어 학습자 말뭉치>를 토대로 중국인 학습자의 사용 오류 양상을 분석하는데 목적이 있다. ‘-에’와 ‘-에서’는 모두 중국어 개사 ‘在’로 대응이 가능하다는 점에서 중국인 학습자들이 두 조사 간의 의미 차이를 제대로 구분하지 못하여 많은 오류를 일으킨다. 선행 연구에서 시도한 ‘-에’와 ‘-에서’의 의미 분류에 따르면 두 조사는 공통적으로 장소 의미를 지니기는 하지만, 후행하는 서술어나 동사에 따라 다양한 의미로 분화된다. 또한 ‘-에’가 ‘-에서’보다 더 다양한 의미를 지니며, 용법에 따라 의미 차이가 발생하기도 한다는 사실을 확인하였다. 한편 중국인 학습자들의 오류 양상 분석 결과, 모든 등급에서 ‘-에’를 ‘-에서’로, ‘-에서’를 ‘-에’로 교체하는 대치 오류가 가장 많이 나타났다. 따라서 교수자가 ‘-에’의 장소 의미를 먼저 교육한 다음, ‘-에서’를 가르칠 때 두 조사 사이에 어떠한 차이가 있는가를 자세히 설명할 필요가 있으며, 두 조사가 각자 어떤 서술어와 연결될 수 있는지도 함께 제시하여야 할 것이다.

The purpose of this paper is to examine the semantic characteristics of Korean postposition -e and -eseo which have place meaning, then analyze the usage error patterns of Chinese learners based on <Korean Learner Corpus> by The National Institute of the Korean Language. -e and -eseo both can be corresponded with Chinese preposition z&#224;i . Thus, Chinese learners cannot distinguish differences of meanings between -e , -eseo and z&#224;i correctly, causing many usage errors. Based on previous studies that tried classifying semantic characteristics, -e and -eseo both have place meaning, but they are diverged in various meanings depending on following predicates. We also confirmed that -e has more meanings than -eseo and accordingly, differences in meaning may occur. On the other hand, the result of analysis on error patterns in Chinese learners showed the ‘substitution’error that replacing ‘-eseo’ when ‘-e’ should be used, and vice versa occurred the most in all grades. Therefore, it is necessary for the instructor to educate the place meaning of -e first, and then explain in detail the difference between -e and -eseo when educating -eseo , and which predicates -e and -eseo can be linked to.
