The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of stress on burnout and life satisfaction. Participants of the study were 354 middle school Taekwondo athletes. Their mean age was 14.93 (SD=.83). Data were collected by using structured survey and analyzed by using descriptive statistics, correlation, and multiple regression analysis. Results are as follows. First, exercise stress had a positive effect on psychological/emotional exhaustion and reduced sense of accomplishment and motivation, while coach stress influenced positively reduced sense of accomplishment and motivation, conflict with coach, and conflict with teammate. Second, exercise stress had a negative effect on life satsfaction. Third, psychological/emotional exhaustion and reduced sense of accomplishment and motivation influenced negatively life satisfaction. In conclusion, student-athletes’ stress determines level of burnout and degree of life satisfaction.
