본고는 2021년 9월 옥스퍼드 영어사전(OED)에 등재된 26개의 한국어 어휘를 소개하고 분석하고자 한다. 이를위해 OED의 구성을 살펴보고 한국어 어휘들을 분석한 후 그 의미를 표준국어대사전과 비교하였다. OED에서 동북아 지역과의 인용된 어휘 수를 비교하여 한류의 영향으로 한국어가 최근 많이 인용되었음을 알 수 있었으며, 등재된 어휘들은 음식, 친족 관계, 한류를 명시적으로 나타내는 단어가 많음을 보았다. 의미를 설명하는 방식에 있어서 표준국어대사전보다는 OED가 실제 사용 의미를 구체적으로 나타내고 있었으며, 콩글리시로 치부하는 외래어까지 이번 등재단어에 포함된 것을 볼 때, 한국어교육의 입장에서는 한국어 어휘를 교수할 때 보다 유연한 태도로접근하면 좋겠다는 것이 논지이다.
This paper intends to introduce and analyze 26 Korean words registered in the Oxford English Dictionary (OED) in September 2021. It was examined the composition of OED, then Korean words in OED were analyzed, and their meanings were compared with the standard Korean dictionary. Comparing the number of vocabularies cited in the OED with Northeast Asian regions, it can be seen that Korean has been cited a lot recently due to the influence of the Korean Wave. It was found that the registered vocabularies contain many words that food, kinship, and explicitly represent of the Korean Wave. In terms of explaining the meaning, the OED showed the actual meaning in detail rather than the Standard Korean Dictionary. Considering that even foreign words that are considered Konglish are included in this list, the argument is that it would be better to approach Korean teachers with a more flexible attitude when teaching Korean vocabularies.
