이 연구에서는 한국어 교육 분야에서 실험음성학적인 방법으로 진행된 한국어 모음 연구 동향을 살펴보았다. 외국인 학습자를 대상으로 한 한국어 교육 분야에서는 2000년대 초반부터 실험음성학적인 방법이 연구에 도입되었으며 과학적이고 객관적인 분석을 할 수 있다는 이점으로 꾸준히 이루어지다가 2010년 이후 그 연구의 수가 급증하였다. 본고에서는 현재까지 이루어진 한국어 단모음의 실험음성학적인 연구의 특징을 살펴보고 이를 통해 연구방법의 경향성을 찾고자 하였다. 이를 위해 연도별, 대상 학습자의 언어권별, 단모음별의 거시적인 동향과 함께 연구의 목적과 연구에 사용된 방법에 따라 세분화하여 구체적으로 분류하였다. 그 결과 학습자 대상 언어권이 중국인에 치중되어 있어 연구 대상의 다양화가 필요하다는 것을 확인하였다. 연구 방법에서는 음성 자료를 확보하기위해 직접 녹음을 한 연구가 대부분이라는 것을 알 수 있었다. 마지막으로 학습자의 단모음 오류를 확인하는 연구가 많이 이루어진 것에 비해 이를 교육하기 위한 교육 방안을 제안한 연구의 수는 부족한 것으로 나타났다. 한국어 교육에서 단모음 연구의 전반적인 연구의 동향과 연구 방법의 경향을 살펴본 첫 논문으로 의의가 있으며 이는 앞으로 진행될 한국어 단모음의 실험음성학적인 연구 분야에서 기조 자료로써 의미를 가진다.
The purpose of this study is to examine the trend of Korean vowel research conducted by experimental phonetic methods in the field of Korean language education. Since the early 2000s, experimental phonetic methods have been introduced into the study. In addition, the number of studies has increased since 2010 due to the advantage of being able to conduct scientific and objective analysis. To find the characteristics of experimental phonetic research and the tendency of research methods, research on Korean vowel was classified by year, language group, and type of vowel. Moreover, it was subdivided according to the purpose of the study and the method used in the study. As a result, it was confirmed that the language group was concentrated on a particular group, so it was necessary to diversify the research subject. In the research method, it was found that most of the studies collected the voice data by recording. In the type of study, compared to many studies confirming learners’ vowel errors, the studies on education method was insufficient. This study looked at the overall trend of research and the trend of research methods. The result of this study can be used as a reference material when planning an experimental phonetic study of Korean vowel to be conducted in the future.
