정치인의 이미지 형성에 대한 고찰

An Investigation on the Image Formation of Politicians

정치인에게 이미지는 성패를 결정하는 가장 핵심적이면서도 포괄적인 개념이자 실체이다. 대중이 인식하는 정치인의 이미지가 선거에서 성공 여부를 결정하는데 중요한 영향을 미치기 때문이다. 정치인 이미지에 대한 선행연구들은 결과론적으로 정치인의 이미지 형성요소를 추출하고 평가의 기준으로 삼았다. 그러나 이러한 방식의 정치인 이미지 형성요소들은 객관적인 방식으로 보기 어려움을 확인하였다. 이에 이 논문은 정치인의 이미지 구축을 위해 정당이 정치인 충원과정을 체계적으로 구축함으로써 대중이 정당으로부터 공천받은 정치인에 대한 이미지를 신뢰할 수 있도록 하는 방안을 제시하였다.

For politicians, the image is the most essential and comprehensive concept and substance that determines success or failure in their political life. This is because the image of a politician perceived by the public has an important influence in determining the success or failure of an election. The previous studies on the image of a politician extracted the elements that formed the image and used it as a criterion for evaluation. However, it was confirmed that there was difficulty in having the formative elements of this image of a politician seen in an objective way. Therefore, this study presented a way for the public to trust the image of the politician nominated by the political party by systematically establishing the process of recruiting politicians by the political party to build the image.
