Good psychiatric interventions are required for the treatment and management of obesity in the clinical field of Korean medicine. Cognitive behavioral therapy, a standardized method of psychiatric intervention for mental management, modifies patient s behavior by managing daily life, and correcting distorted cognition. Cognitive behavioral therapy is already included in the guidelines for managing obesity. Recently cognitive behavioral therapy is installed in the form of apps and used to monitor one s own activities and thoughts. In the field of Korean medicine, various factors of cognitive behavioral therapy can be applied as treatment methods for obese patients. Meditation-based method, including form of mindfulness meditation, such as ‘walking meditation’ and ‘eating meditation’ can be applied, and emotional freedom techniques, a form of energy technique, can also be used.
